The mill is now owned by a family who wanted to bring a new life to the building and to realise its potential as a local and national landmark.
In more recent years, extensive works has been undertaken and thankfully it is now facing a very bright and exciting future. Not only home to a unique and exclusive wedding venue, but also; individual office and retail spaces, three holiday cottages renovated from the mill outbuildings and The Shrub Club - a dog friendly boutique bar.
We are keen to involve the local community in our plans for the future of Torr Vale Mill and we welcome ideas from those who wish to get involved. Ultimately, our aim is to bring this historical place into a new era in which it is both financially and environmentally self-sustainable.
Torr Vale Mill events during the covid-19 pandemic
This page will keep you up to date with the latest information on how we at Torr Vale Mill are responding to the current coronavirus pandemic. This page was last update on 20th November 2020.
Viewings and tours…..
Currently, the Torr Vale Mill events suite is closed in response to the lockdown. We are able to offer personal tours of the suite and it’s grounds when the restrictions are lifted. We can assure you that we will take all the precautionary measures to ensure our visitors, guests and staff are safe. If you would like to arrange a viewing, please click here or email us directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are in the process of creating a virtual tour of the events suite, self-catering cottages and the office suites within Torr Vale Mill. As soon as this is ready, it will be posted on our website or we can notify you directly if you would like to join our distribution list.
The great news is that Torr Vale Mill can be flexible in hosting all events, big or small. We are able to offer more intimate weddings and gatherings in line with the government’s guidance during the pandemic or when restrictions are fully lifted, hold events for up to 450 people. We understand the uncertainty the pandemic brings and will work with all our couples and event organisers to meet their requirements and those of the government to provide a safe and enjoyable event.
We do not know when the government will be able to lift restrictions from their announcement on 22nd September that wedding ceremonies and breakfasts can take place with 15 people. If you have a wedding booked with us for 2020/21, we will be in contact with you to look at whether you would like to continue with your booking or look at alternative options.
We are working with all our event organisers in looking at their options as the event date draws closer to ensure we adhere to the restriction rules. If you have any queries or would like to discuss your upcoming event, please contact us directly.
Our holiday lets are currently closed in line with government regulations but open when lockdown is lifted. You can book directly with Sykes Cottages for availability until April 2021 or for dates after this, please contact us by email (email@example.com). All the cottages are professionally cleaned ad we have also introduced protocols for our guests and cleaners to maintain a covid-secure environment.
